Cookie Policy
Effective Date: 18 March 2026 Last Updated: 18 March 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how The Coaches Coach ("we," "us," "our," or "Platform") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website and services (collectively, the "Services").
By using our Services, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this Policy. This Policy should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
2. What Are Cookies?
2.1 Definition
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, smartphone, tablet) when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognize your device and remember information about your visit.
2.2 Types of Cookies
Session Cookies
- Temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser
- Used to maintain your session and keep you logged in
Persistent Cookies
- Remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them
- Used to remember your preferences and settings
First-Party Cookies
- Set by The Coaches Coach
- Used for essential functionality and analytics
Third-Party Cookies
- Set by external services (e.g., analytics providers, payment processors)
- Used for analytics, advertising, and external features
3. Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, we use:
3.1 Web Beacons (Pixels)
Small transparent images embedded in web pages and emails to track:
- Page views
- Email opens
- User behavior
3.2 Local Storage
Browser storage that allows us to save:
- User preferences
- Session data
- Application state
3.3 Session Storage
Temporary storage cleared when you close your browser:
- Form data
- Navigation state
- Temporary preferences
3.4 Device Fingerprinting
Collecting device and browser characteristics for:
- Fraud prevention
- Security monitoring
- Analytics
4. Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies for four main purposes:
4.1 Essential Cookies (Strictly Necessary)
These cookies are required for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled:
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
next-auth.session-token (or __Secure-next-auth.session-token on HTTPS) | Authentication - keeps you logged in | Session | First-party |
next-auth.csrf-token (or __Secure-next-auth.csrf-token on HTTPS) | Security - prevents cross-site request forgery | Session | First-party |
next-auth.callback-url | Navigation - remembers your destination after login | Session | First-party |
Legal Basis: These cookies are necessary for the performance of our contract with you.
Note: The __Secure- prefix is automatically added to cookie names when using HTTPS in production for enhanced security.
4.2 Functional Cookies (Preferences)
These cookies enhance functionality and remember your choices:
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
NEXT_LOCALE | Language preference | 1 year | First-party |
user_source | Tracks signup source (home page vs academy landing page) for optimal navigation experience | 30 days | First-party |
Legal Basis: Legitimate interest in providing personalized user experience. You can disable these cookies, though doing so may affect language preference and navigation functionality.
Note: Cookie consent preferences are stored in localStorage (not cookies) and are not sent with every HTTP request.
4.3 Analytics and Performance Cookies
Currently Not Implemented
We do not currently use analytics cookies or third-party analytics services. Usage data is collected server-side for platform improvement purposes only, without the use of cookies.
If we implement analytics cookies in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent.
4.4 Marketing and Advertising Cookies
Currently Not Implemented
We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not track users across websites or display targeted advertising.
If we implement marketing cookies in the future, we will update this policy and request your explicit consent before doing so.
5. Third-Party Cookies and Services
5.1 Payment Processing
Stripe - When you make a purchase, you are redirected to Stripe's secure checkout page (checkout.stripe.com). Stripe sets cookies on their domain (not ours) to:
- Process payments securely
- Prevent fraud
- Ensure PCI compliance
Important: Stripe's cookies are set on Stripe's domain during checkout, not on our website. We do not have control over Stripe's cookies.
5.2 Email Services
Resend - Used only for sending transactional emails (password resets, purchase confirmations, etc.). May use tracking pixels in emails to monitor delivery, but does not set cookies on our website.
5.3 Authentication
NextAuth.js - An open-source authentication library that sets the essential cookies listed in Section 4.1 above. These cookies are set on our domain and are necessary for secure authentication.
- User behavior and demographics
- Traffic sources
- Device and browser information
5.4 Hosting and Infrastructure
Microsoft Azure - Used for cloud hosting, database, and file storage. Azure infrastructure does not set cookies on our website. All cookies are set by our application (NextAuth.js) or during payment processing (Stripe).
5.5 AI Services
AskBevo Chatbot - Our AI-powered chatbot is custom-built using our own API and does not use third-party AI services that set cookies on our website.
5.6 Social Media
We do not currently integrate social media tracking or sharing widgets that would set third-party cookies on our website. If you visit our social media profiles, those platforms' own cookies will apply on their respective domains.
6. How to Manage Cookies
6.1 Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit our Platform, you'll see a cookie consent banner. By clicking "Accept" or continuing to use the site, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this policy.
Current Implementation: Our banner shows an "Accept" button. Your acceptance is stored in localStorage (not a cookie) to remember your preference.
